Taylynn has been getting sick often the past 2-3 years more and more the older she gets. It was always the sore throat, stuffy nose, and just feeling good all the time. Sometimes it would even bother her ears. So finally I took her to a ENT specialist (Ears, Nose, Throat). As we discussed signs of not sleeping well, since she was little, snoring and constantly getting sick it was time to check out her tonsils. Dr. said a 1 being normal size tonsils and 4 being the biggest she was at a 3 in size, and they needed to be taken out. So, we scheduled surgery and on Feb. 21, 2014 she got her tonsils out. She got a little teddy bear when we got there, she got to ride in a wagon to the surgery room. Aunt Emma works at the surgical center and she helped make sure she was doing good, took care of her, and kept me updated on how she was doing. Thanks to her I was a little less going crazy during the whole procedure and waiting in the waiting room wondering how my little girl was doing. When I finally got to see her, which seemed like forever, she was in a crying panic and they couldn't calm her down. I was expecting it to go a little different then it did with her not being so sad about it, but she did cry most of the time in the recovery room. Her surgery went well and while Dr. was taking out her tonsils he checked her adenoids and they were big too so he made those smaller. He took a picture of her tonsils ( I won't post them because they are gross looking) and they are huge, pitted, with white tonsils stones. No wonder she was always sick!
So after a long two week recovery she is suppose to be a new Taylynn.
These are the best pictures I could get of her while in the recovery room. She got a green water bottle and did really good at drinking that while she was there.
Once she finally settled down and finally fell asleep she looked so peaceful. However, once she woke up it was back to crying and I could not do anything to help sooth her.
However once we left the surgical center she was like a normal little girl. I don't know if being hooked up to a IV and being in the hospital just upset her. However, it has been a week and 2 days and it has been a long week for sure. Long nights of coughing, complaining of throat hurting, her ears hurting. Now on day 9 she is doing a lot better and we are only getting up like 2 times a night instead of every two hours. I am excited for her to be fully healed and get to feel so much better with her tonsils and huge adenoids out.
